Australian Brumby Competition

This year's Brumby competition will feature Australia’s native horse in a number of different disciplines, these will include led classes Stllion/Colt, Mare/ Filly, and Gelding along with one ridden class. These tests really showcase the versatility and trainability of these horses. This competition aims to entertain and educate people on the Australian Brumby. Across the Saturday afternoon at EquiFest, this Brumby competition will give spectators a new perspective on Australia’s native horse. So don’t miss this great equine treat. The Brumby's will be in the Arab Arena from 1pm on Saturday.

The Miniature Horse program for EquiFest will showcase the versatility and athleticism of these unique equine. More than just a pretty face, Miniatures also excell in the performance arena with events such as trail, hunter, 6 bar and show jumping. Come and meet these wonderful horses at EquiFest on Saturday 1st April and Sunday 2nd April where they will be competing in MiniFest.

Arabian Horse Breeders Alliance Australasian Breeders Cup

The Arabian Horse Breeders Alliance of Australasia (AHBAA) are proud to bring their unique Arabian show, The Breeders' Cup, to EquiFest. This annual event brings out the very pinnicle in Purebred Arabian Horses and is a highlight competition for Arabian lovers and equine lovers alike.

The Breeders' Cup showcases beautiful Arabian Horses both in-hand and under-saddle to a judging panel of local and international accord.This competition offers its audience a truly unique experience during the judging where they can get up close and personal with the horses on show. This is part of the AHBAA’s goal of promoting positive growth and appreciation of the Arabian breed through education as well as competition.

A full range of classes will be featured in the four day Dressage programme, opening it to all who wish to compete. Four arenas will be used for this programme, the Premier one being a new purpose built arena situated in the main showgrounds oval, adjacent to the EquiFest Premier Arena, and surrounded by exhibition sites. This arena will showcase Dressage by staging the best of the best, at all levels, with emphasis on future champions. The NSW Dressage arenas will be used to stage the lead up classes for most of the future champions, although the Grand Prix level classes will be staged completely in the Premier Arena, with the Musical on Saturday afternoon.

This program, which will be held on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday, will be held in two arenas, situated in the western end of the Hawkesbury Showgrounds’ main oval. Having been granted Grand National Qualifying Status for 2018, the schedule for the Mitavite Showing arena will cover hack and hunter classes, along with Riding classes and a children’s program, in line with standard Grand National Qualifying schedules. Rugs, rosettes, garlands and prize money will be presented. The use of the second arena is yet to be confirmed.

Show Jumping

This exciting Show Jumping programme will provide competition for all levels and abilities to enjoy. This four day programme will use three arenas, all situated within the main oval of the Hawkesbury Showgrounds. The Premier Arena, located in front of the Grandstand and surrounded by bars, cafes and exhibition sites, will feature the top level competition in a European like atmosphere. This will include the Mitavite Sydney Open on Sunday afternoon and the Australia vs New Zealand Test matches including Junior, Young Rider and Senior Teams. Much work will be done to ensure the surface is as jumpable as possible, and excellent prize money will be offered, especially to the Premier Arena classes. Modelled on the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show, this competition is one not to be missed.

Australian National Saddlehorse Association

The Australian National Saddlehorse Association (ANSA) is an all breeds registry for performance horses and breeding stock. Ridden ANSA horses are exhibited with choice of presentation in either Classic or Traditional Attire. This, the inaugural presentation of the ANSA NSW State Championships, will occur on Sunday showcasing the best of ANSA Youngstock, Progeny and Performance Horses under saddle.

An exciting new and innovative program gives a nod to the diversity of ANSA with classes for the Working Horse, Hack, Hunter, Best Presented, Young ANSA Horses, Bridle Path and Versatiles and more.

Competitors will not be disappointed with prize money, garlands, rugs and prizes on offer.
